Tales from the Chicken Yard and Other Fowl Stories is based on fact and fiction and provides lots of laughs.  The true part consists of stories about the crazy antics of my chickens. The fiction part is that our pet dog is telling the stories to her grand puppies to keep them entertained. Some of the star characters are That Bad Rooster; Princess, the Dignified Hen; The Hen that Crowed; and The Old Girls. It’s a chapter book, written in a style similar to Hank, the Cowdog.  A glossary has been provided for some of the harder vocabulary words and an assortment of idioms used throughout the stories. Illustrations were provided by East Bernard native Jeanette Smaistrla Crum, who just recently discovered her artistic talents.
